Hitachi Cable, Ltd.,(HCL), actively pursues the creation, development and refinement of inovative technologies. HCL places great importance on research and development to establish production technologies of high-quality and high-reliability i.e."perfect products".
In superconductivity technologies, in particular, HCL has been pioneering technology not only at its own Research and Development Laboratory but also in close co-operation with various national institutes, universities and other research organizations.
Since introducing its first superconductor in 1968, Hitachi Cable has manufactured a variety of conductors, including large current-carrying Superconductors, Aluminum-Stabilized Superconductors, Nb3Sn Superconductors for use in high magnetic fields. The diverse applications of these superconducting wire rods includes magnets ranging in size from very small to large laboratory units, experimental fusion reactors, magnetic levitation vehicles, particle accelerators, generators and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems for medical use. These superconductors have achieved high praise in their various uses amongst customers.
